This gallery is a tribute to my wife, Carol, who passed away in 2018. She was my wife for almost 60 years, the mother of my (our) children, my childhood sweetheart, and my best friend. Because I’m sort of old, I’ve had other losses: all 4 grandparents, both parents, most of my aunts and uncles, my twin brother, and many friends. But nothing compared to the loss of this wonderful lady -- my wife.
Since I am a photographer, I wanted to try to use photography to depict the extreme loneliness, the frustration, anxiety and despair, and a certain amount of fear, of such a great loss. Some of the “pictures” in this gallery are composites -- these are labeled ’digital photographic art.’ Working on the pictures in this galley was cathartic for me.
